Ecosystem & Droneport

Ecosystem/Droneport Design

IFD id  designing the ecosystem to assure that the operations of moving shipping containers from the drones to the trucks and back is very efficient.

Development & Manufacturing

IFD will be partnersing with real-estate development companies and heliport developers to implement the ecosystem.

Franchise Packaging

IFD will together the materials for franchisees that will be constructing and operating the ecosystem infrastrucure around a country.

Architectural Design for the Droneport

IFD will develop a basic set of architectural plans for the droneport. These drawings will be used by local architects as the starting for droneport construction around the world. The droneport will include areas for drone operations, flight  operations, ground operations, maintenance areas and logistics companies areas.

IFD will work with logistics and transport companies  to validate the design for the movement of trucks into and out of the droneport such that they are efficient and secure.

Flight Operations

Flight Operations are the systems for managing the drones in the air. This will include:

  • Communications that are necessary between the drone and flight operations.
  • System management of take-offs and landings.
  • Visibility of the drones cameras and IoT sensor information.
  • Interfaces necessary with the Ground Operations system.
  • Interface with the country’s Air Traffic Control.
  • User interface for people to view the actions of the AI based management system and have the ability to override system decisions.

Ground Operations

The ground operations system will be managing the movement of all equipment and people that are on the ground. It will include:

  • Robotic Forklift management for the movement of containers.
  • Robotic container crane management.
  • Robotic Tow Tractors for the movement of the drones.
  • Robotic fuel station systems for fueling the drones.
  • Management of people movement on the under deck and in the truck areas.
  • Security Management system that includes both physical and cyber components.
  • Interface with inspection systems for the drones, containers, security fencing, and for trucks.
  • Truck Bay management system with a mobile interface for the truck drivers.
  • Interfaces with the Flight Operations system and the Truck Bay managements system.

Maintenance Operations

This system will be used for the maintenance of the drones and containers while at the droneport. These systems will include:

  •  Maintenace manuals provided by drone manufacturers.
  • Ticket repair system for managing repairs.
  • Interface to the national system to track all repairs on any drone.
  • Analytical tools for diagnosing drone issues.

Robotics Support

IFD will work with robotics companies to provide all the robots defined by the Ground Operations System. The interface to the ground operations system will need to be added to any current robotic product.

This will include forklifts, cranes, tow tractors, refueling systems and inspection drones that will be used for inspecting drones before a flight and for security of the site.

Truck Bay Operations

IFD will partner with other tech companies to develop a truck bay management system to manage the incoming and outgoing trucks to and from the secure truck bay area. The systems would include:

  • Logistics company interface to give permission for trucks to enter and exit.
  • Truck driver app that will give a driver permission to enter or exit.
  • Queueing algorithms that move trucks efficiently into the next available bay with notification to the logistics company.
  • Inspection drones that will provide security and assure that the containers are sealed andin good condition to fly.

Security Systems

IFD will be working with security technology firms to create the systems necessary for providing the physical and cyber systems to assure all data and the property are safe.

Logistic Company Support

IFD will be working with logistics companies to define and create systems that will provide the following functionality:

  • Truck entry and exit permissions.
  • Requests for drone movement, flight plans and container movements.
  • Management of people movement in non-logistics areas.
  • Real-time viewing of drone cameras and IoT data from Flight Operations.

Franchise Packaging

IFD will not be operating most of the drone ports and will be creating a franchise package for to support the droneport operations. The package will include such things as:

  • Architectural designs for building the droneport.
  • Recommendations for all robotics to be used with implementation and operations documentation.
  • Flight Operations, Ground Operations, security systems and Truck Bay Systems  including executable code, implementation plans and operations documentation.
  • Standard Operating Procedures for managing the site.
  • Education plans for all personnel.
